How does it work?
- 1. Ozone comes into contact with the walls of a bacteria cell.
- 2. A reaction called oxidative burst occurs which creates a tiny hole in the cell wall.
- 3. The newly created hole in the cell wall injures the bacteria cell.
- 4. The bacteria cell begins to lose its shape while the ozone molecules continue creating holes in it.
- 5. After just a few seconds thousands of ozone molecules puncture holes in the bacteria cell wall until the cell itself collapses and dies.
